::London The Scene For ‘Do The O2’ Commercial Campaign |
25 July 2007
The O2 Arena recently opened and part of their marketing strategy was to promote the new events venue through TV advertising. The Do the O2 commercial shows a giant bubble bouncing through and above the streets of London. Sean Bean narrates as the O2 bubble emerges from the London Underground. It begins its search across London, stopping off and hovering over various landmarks in the capital. Tom Hamilton was the location manager of the three-day shoot in April. He has been working in London for 10 years and said of the experience: “The shoot was incredibly straightforward. It was a small unit filming tracking shots in the City of Westminster and the City of London. We spent three days on the ground, whilst the rest was done by helicopter. Everything went smoothly, with no problems, we had plenty of time to complete the shoot. “The City of London in particular, Mick Bagnall (borough film officer for this area) was incredibly helpful. Wed also like to thank Leon Goswell at London Underground and the people at St. Katherines Dock, who were also very helpful.” Blink Productions were behind this beautifully effective London-shot advert. The post-production house behind the magical CGI for Do the O2 were Moving Picture Company. |
