HE MAY be sufficiently famous to have seen the inside of the odd limo and private jet but Sean Bean’s most recent mode of transport was not quite up to par.

The Sheffield-born heart-throb appears soon in a Channel 4 production of Red Riding, based on the novels by David Pearce.

And the Sharpe star, who plays a construction industry magnate in a gritty three-part crime drama involving child abduction and police corruption, admits the impressive retro motor sourced for the drama was actually rather soggy.

“I got to drive a Jensen Interceptor, which is a very cool car,” says Sean, 49.

“The only problem was that it was quite old so it leaked when it rained. And it seemed to pour with rain every scene I was in the car. I got constantly drenched.” Oh, the glamour.
