Black Death, the eagerly awaited new film from UK director Chris Smith (Creep, Triangle) is set to recieve it’s premiere at the SFX Weekender on Friday 5th February 2010. We’ve know about this for a while, but were asked to not publicise it till SFX officially launched the weekend schedule.

Black Death, the eagerly awaited new film from UK director Chris Smith (Creep, Triangle) is set to recieve it’s premiere at the SFX Weekender on Friday 5th February 2010. We’ve know about this for a while, but were asked to not publicise it till SFX officially launched the weekend schedule

The film is being screened as part of a mini FrightFest event taking place at the SFX Weekender  also taking place as part of the same event is a FrightFest panel with legendary movie journo and FrightFest organiser Alan Jones, director Jake West and Black Death director Chris Smith; and a screening of the paranoia-infused British horror flick Salvage, which was also shown at last years FrightFest.

Jones is also hosting a screening of the viking horror movie Valhalla Rising earlier the same day. The FrightFest @ SFX Weekender schedule on Friday 5th Feb includes:

2.15pm Valhalla Rising
5.45pm FrightFest Panel
8.30pm Black Death
10.45pm Salvage

Thanks to the generosity of Future Publishing, the team here are making the trip down to Sussex for the SFX Weekender, so look out for tons of coverage, including a review of Black Death, over the weekend of February 5th-6th.
